Job Description

JOB TITLE: Experienced Collections Officer

LOCATION: Long Melford, Suffolk

SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive salary

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 08:00-17:00 (Initially Maternity cover but for the right candidate this could become permanent)

THE COMPANY: Our client is a well established market leader within the mains fed water cooler and coffee machine industry. All of their products are supported by their highly-trained engineers who cover the whole of the UK. Their commitment is that if a problem cannot be fixed, they'll offer a temporary solution, to ensure businesses/employees/customers are not affected. Due to continued success, we are currently looking for an Experienced Collections Officer to join their Leasing department in Long Melford, Suffolk.

THE ROLE: The main focus of the role will be communicating and chasing overdue debt from their clients and customers.

THE CANDIDATE: To excel at this role you will have an excellent
telephone manner, strong numerical skills, tenacity and letter writing skills.

Main responsibilities for the Experienced Collections Officer role in Long Melford, Suffolk:

• Actively chase and manage accounts requiring payment via telephone and SMS where appropriate, in a timely manner

• Maintain relevant spreadsheets to account for leases and the end of lease options

• To provide litigation if deemed necessary and follow through to case settlement.

• Provide assistance to the Office Manager as and when required

• Ensure that Bad Debt is kept within company budget and dealt with imminently

• Maintain the accounts with up to date mandate instructions

• Issue end of lease Invoices

• Issue VAT Invoices

• Answer the phone and deal with account queries

Key Experience/ Characteristics essential for the Experienced Collections Officer role in Long Melford, Suffolk:

• To live within a commutable distance to Long Melford, Suffolk
• At least one year's previous experience from within a similar role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of working within a fast paced, changeable credit control environment
• Able to manage own workload, deal with customer disputes and have strong negotiation skills
• Is flexible in approaching a variety of tasks and able to think outside the box
