JOB TITLE: Clinical Manager NMP

SALARY & BENEFITS: £31,072 to £40,964 dependent upon experience + excellent benefits


THE COMPANY: Our client has an outstanding reputation for being one of the leading providers of recovery focused clinical drug and alcohol treatment. Their focus is on ensuring they provide excellent clinical provision as part of a recovery pathway which supports and facilitates their patients to engage in genuine recovery.

Our client have developed an exciting new in-patient detoxification facility - 'The Pavilion'. The Pavilion is based in a 12 bed purpose built unit and will deliver medically managed and medically monitored detoxification for adults who require detoxification from alcohol or drugs.

THE ROLE: Our client are looking for a Clinical Manager NMP to provide day-to-day leadership to the Clinical team at The Pavilion, ensuring the planning, delivery and evaluation of a coordinated service under the direction of the Head of Clinical & Nursing Services. You will be responsible for providing nursing care and prescribing for patients accessing In-patient detoxification to include assessment, planning and treatment, harm reduction, BBV testing, screening and patient education.

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols, and within scope of practice.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with substance misuse issues, complex needs/dual diagnosis.
  • Review and manage medical notes of patients attending the clinics and promptly share relevant information with partner agencies in order to ensure appropriate management of patients with regards to benefits of the patient and prevention of public harm.
  • Monitor, manage and report clinical workload to ensure the effective deployment of manpower, taking all possible actions to minimise risk when optimum levels are not available.
  • Ensure the team provide consistently high standards of care to patients referred to the service, which is evidence based, and in accordance with national/local clinical practice guidelines.
  • Be actively involved in HR processes including recruitment and retention, management of sickness and absence (including returning to work) and performance issues (including disciplinary and grievance procedures).

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Clinical Manager NMP will have experience in delivering prescribing of controlled drugs within a community substance misuse service. You must have a sound understanding of resource management, risk assessments and governance issues to ensure you adhere to guidelines at all times.

Key experience essential for the role:

  • NMC UK registered nurse with a minimum of 5 years post registration experience.
  • RGN/RMN Registered Nurse with NMP Qualification and a minimum of 5 years post registration experience
  • Non-Medical Prescriber qualification and competence.
