Job Description

IT Infrastructure Engineers
Competitive package based on qualifications and experience
Based Cheltenham, Scarborough or Bute

Take your infrastructure skills to the edge.

To support GCHQ's important intelligence and security remit, we build, maintain and support some of the country's most complex and powerful computing and processing estates. Alongside using some of the most cutting-edge technologies available, we support critical infrastructure that is decades old. It's a challenging environment requiring a high level of expertise.

We need talented people for a number of roles involving deep technical second and third-level support, network design and implementation or IT solution architecture and design. It's likely you will be involved in providing technical consultancy and advice, working closely with other GCHQ teams and solution providers to define IT requirements and assure solutions for a range of projects.

To succeed, you'll need experience of at least one of operating systems, networking, IP telephony, storage and processing infrastructure, IT applications, desktop infrastructure, data centre management, system administration, databases, IT infrastructure or IT vendors. Persistent and resilient with a methodical, common sense and pragmatic approach to problem solving, you will have a flair for assessing information and making recommendations. Your excellent communication skills will mean you work effectively with others.
