Job Description

C#, Visual Studio, WCF, WPF, MVVM, TDD (test Driven Development), Agile SQL Server Software Engineer/Developer/Programmer - Stockport, Cheshire/Manchester - Permanent is required with strong skills in C#, .Net, Visual Studio, Agile and working in TDD and have a positive job done attitude be able to bring high level of C# expertise to the role and business. The aim of this role is to have an expert in Software Development and Engineering Systems, who is focused on improving development and the testing strategy.

Morson International is pleased to offer this fantastic role on behalf of our client, who are currently seeking to recruit a C# Software Engineer/Developer who will be based in Stockport, Cheshire/Manchester UK on a Permanent basis.

The successful candidate should have the following skills and expertise:

Knowledge and experience of the following:
-Programming and Markup Languages - .Net, C#, LINQ,WCF web services, Dependency Injection in Ninject 9 or similar, SOLID design principles
-Operating Systems - Linux, Windows, VMWare
-Configuration Control - Git
-Relational Databases - SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite
- MVVM (Model View View Model)
-Continuous integration/automated Test Tools -Nunit, Moq, AutoFixture, Code Analysis - FxCop StyleCop etc. Jenkins, Code Review
-TDD - Test Driven development
-WCF
-WPF
-Development Methodologies ie Agile/Scrum
-Development Environments ie Visual Studio
-Ability to put skills and project based experience of the above listed areas into practice with minimal support from more skilled colleagues
-Proven expertise in working within multi-disciplinary teams to design and estimate solutions

Essential Skills:
-Good communication and inter-personal skills
-Effective personal organisation and an ability to remain composed/focused under pressure
-Has a sound ability in the use of software design tools to manage software designs
-Expertise of Configuration Management and Change Control
-Understand requirements tracing from design through to development and test

Desirable Skills:
-Wonderware Application Server 2012,Historian 2012, InTouch 2012,Toolkits
-Ruby/Rake build scripts
-WiX installers
-Gerrit

Role:
You will be a key member of the Software Development team based at in Cheshire/Manchester, with the opportunity to collaborate with company sites across the UK.
-The successful candidate will mentor and lead a team of software developers working on various projects. Responsible for the coding, testing and configuration of high quality, robust software that meets customer requirements
-Define their solution by working with Systems Engineering and customers to develop requirements and a test strategy
-Support their systems by working with customer support functions to ensure that currently deployed software products are maintained and working at all times
-Build their strategy by working with the software management function to ensure that skills, technology and ways of working are developed and are the best possible Some travel to client sites and other company sites will be required to support project delivery adhocly. Therefore flexibility to travel and work at other locations is essential.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
-Design software modules with the aid of Software Engineers and Software Architects
-Implement software modules in C# and other languages (version 2.0 an above)
-Comply with coding standards and working practices to meet quality targets
-Provide technical expertise on project activities based on job holder's skill set to deliver in terms of budget, quality and schedule (including input to design, cost estimation, code and test activities) -Project an element of customer support when required, dealing with live issues and problems that occur
-Attend project reviews, as part of a wider team, to carry out a suitable level of engineering governance
-Use all Software Engineering processes, methodologies and tools as required
-Ensure cost effective reuse of product elements
-Participate in the review of functional design specifications, production of high level system architectural designs and production of interface designs
-Provide technical expertise on project activities based on job holder's skill set to deliver in terms of budget, quality and schedule (including input to design, cost estimation, code and test activities) -Attend project reviews, as part of a wider team, to carry out a suitable level of engineering governance
-Use all Software Engineering processes, methodologies and tools as required

Qualifications: Minimum 2.1 Honours Degree in a relevant subject eg Software Engineering, Computer Science. Other Engineering disciplines are accepted as long as you fulfil the skills competence required above

Location: Stockport, Cheshire/Manchester Derbyshire

Hours: 37.5 hrs a week.

Salary: Excellent Salary plus benefits including Pension Scheme and 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
